In Europe, a huge over-supply occured of apples. Instead of the usual 11.5 to 12 million tons, yields are around 14 million tons, which already caused tensions at the time of harvest, the apple producers have also demonstrated due to low take-over prices – Ledó Ferenc, President of the Hungarian Vegetable-Fruit Intergovernmental Organization and Product Board (FruitVeB) told Világgazdaság.
