European Commission: the number of notifications and actions on dangerous products has increased
The number of notifications and actions on dangerous products increased last year. The authorities of countries participating in the European Consumer Protection System reported more than 2,200 alerts and respondedto nearly 4,500 cases.
It is a 10 percent increase from 2018 and a 63 percent increase over five years – Didier Reynders, Commissioner for Justice announced at a press conference in Brussels on Tuesday.
He said that toys received the most objections, accounting for 29 percent of all reports, followed by the category of motor vehicles (23 percent) and electrical appliances and equipments (8 percent). (MTI)
