European Court of Justice: The protection of private property was damaged during the conversion of the tobacco trade system
The Hungarian government has violated the protection granted to private property, when deprived Vékony László tobacconist in Sopron in 2013 from his tobacco seller license – the European Court of Human Rights said it in the first instance on Tuesday.
The decision does not require the Hungarian legislature to amend the act or toterminate the regulation, but will oblige the Hungarian State to pay 15 thousand euros (approximately 4.77 million HUF) for the damages and 6,000 euros (1.9 million HUF) for the legal costs if it becomes final.
The judgment will become final if neither of the parties will appeal against it within three months or if they both announce that they do not intend to appeal against it, or if the body rejects the appeal. (Konsiczky Zoltán MTI)
