Wholesale platform Faire expands in Europe
Faire, an online wholesale platform from the United States, is expanding its footprint in Europe. Its global network of curated brands and business tools is becoming available to independent retailers across 14 countries, primarily in Eastern Europe.
Faire started in 2017 in San Francisco with the goal of connecting independent brands to independent retailers, thereby simplifying and democratizing access to unique products. In early 2021, Faire made its move into Europe, launching in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, followed by other markets across the continent.
Faire in Europe
The expansion has been successful, according to Faire in a press release. The company has become “a key global partner for independent businesses navigating a complex retail landscape”, covering 70 percent of Europe’s GDP, Ecommerce News reports. Faire’s European business is growing twice as fast as its North American business, with brands on the continent fulfilling over 2 million orders on Faire and retailers spending nearly 500 million dollars to date.
With the introduction into fourteen new European countries, Faire is taking the next step. These countries are Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. In many of these countries, retail spending is increasing above average, with Southern Europe and Eastern Europe experiencing strong growth rates in ecommerce turnover.
35,000 retailers on the waitlist
More than 35,000 retailers across these countries have already joined Faire’s waitlist, according to the company. “Brands in these markets have listed over 115,000 products on the platform, signaling a vibrant wholesale ecosystem ready to grow.” Besides Europe, Faire is also expanding into New Zealand, bringing its global presence to 35 markets.
Max Rhodes, co-founder and CEO of the wholesale platform, states: “We are proud to continue building a global network where local retail can flourish without borders.” Faire prides itself on flexible 60-day payment terms, simplified logistics, and personalized product recommendations.
