According to a quick estimate by Eurostat, in August 2009, the volume of retail turnover kept falling, by 1.8 percent in the EU-27 and by 2.6 percent in the eurozone, compared to August 2008. Only 4 member states achieved growth, while the decline continued in 14. Car and spare parts sales decreased in Hungary by 50 percent in August.
