Euro area inflation: close to the 2-percent limit
The strongest consumer price increase rate occurred in October, since November 2008 in the Euro area: 0.4 percent, compared to the previous month, and 1.9 percent, compared to the previous year – reports Eurostat.
In September the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), increased by 1.8 percent, four months earlier in June by only 1.4 percent, and although it still remains under the 2 percent limit, the rate of inflation is clearly rising progressively.
According to most analysts, the October inflation rate, was mainly due to the increase in energy prices – reports Népszabadság Online.
