The Milk Marketing Board asks for EU origin protection for rugged cottage
In order to improve the domestic dairy industry’s situation the Milk Marketing Board asks for EU origin protection for rugged cottage. The claim is expected to be submitted in September or October – emphasited Lukács László, managing director of the Milk Marketing Board on Tuesday, at a press conference in Budapest.
He added that the procedure is a long bureaucratic process, but they will accomplish the it, because experience shows that the market position of products with the origin protection of the European Union improves significantly.
According to the datas of the Milk Marketing Board, cottage is made from one fifth of the domestic milk production, from about 300 million liters of milk. About half of this is rugged cottage. (MTI)
