EU court: the new EU Directive on Tobacco Products is valid
The EU’s Court of Justice confirmed the validity of the EU Directive on Tobacco Products in its judgement on Wednesday.
The new rules take effect this month, although the union’s 28 member countries have some leeway in how to adopt the new measures, which also include a ban on menthol cigarettes.
Poland, the Philip Morris International and the British American Tobacco, tobacco companies challenged Certain provisions of the directive at the EU court. (MTI, Bajnok Artúr)
