EU: Nearly one third of Internet users are concerned about online payments
Internet users are very concerned about the situation of cyber security: according to the latest Eurobarometer survey 89 percent of the respondents are refrain themselves to give their personal informations on the Internet, almost three-quarters believe that in recent years, the chance that they become the victims of cyber criminals has increased.
According to datas, 12 percent of the European Internet users had been a victim of online frauds, 8 percent became victims of identity theft. “As more and more people exploit the potential of internet, and enjoying the benefits of the digital economy, it is not a coincidence that the personal data and the security of online payments are the solicitous questions for all of us. However, it is surprising, that only half of Europeans does concrete defending actions against cyber crime “- said Cecilia Malmström, EU Commissioner for EU Home Affairs.
