EU: Most European bathing waters meet quality standards
Most of Europe’s bathing waters meet the highest quality standards, with 60.2 percent of the 274 bathing sites listed in Hungary meeting these criteria, according to the European Environment Agency (EEA), which compiled data for 2021, compiled jointly with the European Commission. from its assessment published on Tuesday. According to the report, nearly 85 percent of the 21,859 bathing sites surveyed across Europe met the European Union’s most stringent standards for “excellent” water quality.
