Vending-machines trying to revolutionize pizza-industry?
A vending machine that bakes fresh pizza in minutes for a few euros – a device developed with help from British-Dutch group Unilever is about to be launched within a few days in Italy.
The bright-red "Let's Pizza"
machine uses infra-red rays and technology developed at the
University of Bologna, and has proved to be popular in trials in two
Italian regions. Its developer, Claudio Torghele hopes to launch the
machines across Europe and in the United States, with ingredients
varying according to local tastes. Restaurant-owners and gourmets are
not particularly happy about the new vending-machine, of course.
