An unauthorized ingredient was identified in the Now Foods Candida Support dietary supplement, which is why it was recalled from the market – the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) informed MTI on Friday.

According to the information, based on a notification received through the EU’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), an unauthorized ingredient (Juglans nigra-black walnut) was identified in the dietary supplement product marketed under the name Candida Support.

The product was sold through the website https://shopbuilder.hu/ operated by BioTechUSA Kft. – they wrote.

The NKFH contacted the affected company, the company, in cooperation with the authority, and keeping in mind the health protection of consumers, immediately took the necessary measures within its own jurisdiction, stopped selling the product, and ensured that the affected product was recalled from consumers.

The affected product is Candida Support containing 90 capsules, the manufacturer is Now Foods (USA), the e-retailer is BioTechUSA Kft. – the NKFH announced.

The Shopbuilder Web Store announced that the The safety of their consumers and the high quality of their products are a priority for their company. They ask that anyone who has purchased any of the above products return them to them.

The product affected by the product recall, Candida Support, is manufactured by NOW Foods (USA). BioTechUSA Kft. was neither the exclusive distributor nor the manufacturer of the product in question, but was only one of the distributors as a reseller. The product was available exclusively through one of our sales channels, the shopbuilder web store, therefore our company is listed in the official information only as an e-retailer. The product was never listed in the BioTechUSA web store. Of course, after the official notification, we took immediate and comprehensive action, ordered an immediate product recall, and will return the 1 product in stock to the distributor.
