Dietary supplements: fighting fatigue and strengthening the immune system
According to the results of the Ipsos health survey, published in spring 2014, one quarter of Hungary’s population think of themselves as fit. 30 percent of men and 19 percent of women feel well; on the contrary, 40 percent feel bad physically and mentally. The 1,000-person representative survey revealed that people take dietary supplements mainly to fight fatigue and to strengthen their immune system. An analysis by MarketResearch.com predicts that in 2015 the pharmaceutical product market will grow in Hungary. Consumer demand for OTC and generic drugs is increasing. According to the analysis, the pharmaceutical market expanded by 2 percent to HUF 590 billion in 2014. Medicinal product sales grew 1.9 percent to HUF 2.23 billion. Krisztina Szép, OTC product category manager of Johnson&Johnson Kft. told our magazine that the company is dedicated to innovation. Recently anti-diarrheal product line IMODIUM® has enjoyed great success. New product IMODIUM® Instant can be taken without water and was voted product of the year by consumers in 2015 in its category.
