Pannon Mechanika Kft. from Nagykanizsa has received a HUF 136.06 million non-refundable EU grant for the development of a returnable “community dish sharing system” that can be used for food delivery, the company told MTI on Monday.
According to the company’s announcement, the project aims to reduce and replace single-use plastic food storage and transport containers, in accordance with the requirements of the circular economic model. In addition to the creation of prototypes, system plans, and technical, IT and logistic operational modeling specifications, which will be completed through experimental development, the company would introduce a new approach to food delivery.
The 15-year-old Pannon Mechanika Kft. is an engineering service company that designs and manufactures uniquely developed machines, machine lines, and automatic machines. The owner, Szabolcs Kápolnás, and his business partner, István Jánosi, invented the “community pot sharing concept” in November 2020, which, based on the deposit fee glass exchange system that has been used for decades, prioritizes multiple, circular, shared use of the pot, similar to other community sharing services, he said. at MTI’s request, István Jánosi project manager.
