Milk powder and butter prices fell on the world market
The producer price of raw milk, expressed in national currency, remained unchanged in New Zealand in October 2025, while it increased by 2 percent in the European Union compared to the same month of the previous year. On the world market, the selling price of cheddar cheese (FOB Oceania) decreased by 2 percent in the 51st week of 2025, that of skimmed milk powder by 12 percent, that of whole milk powder by 17 percent, and that of bulk butter by 21 percent compared to the same week of 2024.

The spot market price of raw milk in Italy decreased by 28.25 euros to 40 euros/100 kilograms between weeks 28–51 of 2025. In the Netherlands, the spot market price of raw milk with a fat content of 4.4 percent, excluding VAT and including transport costs, decreased by 28.25 euros/100 kilograms between weeks 28–51 of 2025. fell by 47 euros to 6 euros/100 kilograms between weeks. The fat value decreased by 39 percent and the protein value by 26 percent, so the raw material value excluding transport costs was 35 percent lower in November 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year. In France, milk purchases increased by 0.6 percent in the 49th week of 2025 compared to the previous week and by 5.6 percent compared to the same week of the previous year. According to the rapid report of the German Central Milk Market Service, raw milk purchases in Germany exceeded the previous week by 0.5 percent and the same week of the previous year by 7.4 percent at the same times. In Germany, the selling price of bulk butter decreased by 46 percent and 21 percent respectively compared to the same week of the previous year in the 51st week of 2025 compared to the same week of the previous year. On the Kempten Commodity Exchange, the selling price of 25-kilogram bulk butter was 417.5 euros/100 kilograms, and of 25-kilogram bagged, food-grade (intervention quality) skimmed milk powder was 204 euros/100 kilograms in the 51st week of 2025. The price of bulk butter was 87 percent higher than the intervention price level in the week under review, and that of skimmed milk powder was 17 percent higher.
