The Poultry Product Board reviewed the situation of the egg sector

The Poultry Product Board reviewed the situation of the egg sector at the press conference organized by the Poultry and Egg Producers’ Association.

Two main factors determined the results of the egg industry in recent years. One of Hungary’s accession to the EU, and the other factor is the expansion of foreign retail chains in Hungary. The egg industry typically produced to the domestic market before the EU accession, Hungary’s self-sufficiency was virtually 100 percent. The export-orientation was not typical virtually and the duties have protected domestic producers.
