The tourism industry showed a powerful increase in 2014

Last year, the number of nights spent in accommodation establishments increased by 5.4 percent. The number of foreign guests increased by 2.7, while the number of domestic guests rose by 8.3 percent, compared to the previous year – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday.

Total gross sales of the commercial accommodations increased by 10.4 percent to 330.2 billion HUF.

In December, the foreign visitors, spent 14.9 more guest nights, while the domestic guests spent 10.1 percent more guest nights at commercial accommodations, compared to a year before, while the gross revenue increased by 16.7 percent, compared to the previous year; it was close to 24.6 billion HUF.
