The domestic food industry is getting stronger – Another 5 billion forints in support for the development of processing plants
The Ministry of Agriculture is committed to supporting domestic, quality food production enterprises. Thanks to the call for applications for the development of processing plants, implemented within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy and co-financed by the European Union, 94 investment projects received a total of 5.1 billion forints in non-refundable support. With the current decisions, a decision has been made to award more than 12.2 billion forints in support.
Through the investment support, many domestic small and medium-sized enterprises, from bakeries to vegetable processing, from pasta production to meat processing, can renew their production technology for processing agricultural products, modernize or expand their existing plants, renew their energy systems, and acquire new equipment and machinery.
Those affected could apply for 50 percent of the planned investment costs, but in some cases this could reach 70 percent. Winners can also request an advance payment of up to 25 percent of the grant amount, up to a maximum of HUF 50 million, to implement their projects.
The evaluation of already submitted applications will continue in the coming weeks.
