Plain biscuit strengthened its leading position

Sweet biscuit sales amount to HUF 23 billion per year, according to Nielsen. Plain sweet biscuit’s market share in December 2009-July 2010 grew to 43 percent in value (up 4 percent). They were followed by dry biscuits (household biscuits belong to this category) at 20 percent (stable), dipped biscuits at 14 percent (down 2 percent) and sandwich-type biscuits at 8 percent (stable). We still buy most of our biscuit in 401-2,500 m² stores and private labels share was between 43 and 41 percent.
