The IMF would strengthen the role of consumption type taxes
It is important that the center of fiscal policy would be turned into consumption type taxes from income taxes, because, among other factors, this will help the long-term growth of the economy the most – Johannes Wiegand, Deputy CEO of the European Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) told on Thursday in Budapest.
At the conference, organized by the Andrássy University, the Harvard Club of Hungary and the Ministry of Human Resources, Johannes Wiegand spoke about the the potential of the Central and Eastern European and Southern European countries in connection with the coordination of fiscal consolidation and economic growth.
