Dispersed prices in the European Union
The difference between the price level of the cheapest and the most expensive country was nearly threefold in the EU last year.
According to the survey of Eurostat, published on Friday, the most expensive countrywas Denmark last year, where the price level was 38 percent higher than the average of the EU. The lowest was Bulgaria, where the price level was 38 percent of the EU average.
In the EU, Hungary was the cheapest in clothing with an EU average of 70 percent, foods and consumer electronics were the cheapest in Poland, cars were the cheapest in the Czech Republic, while alcohol, tobacco, restaurants and hotel rooms were the cheapest in Bulgaria. (MTI)
