There is no strong animal husbandry without stong agriculture. In this spirit, 2.6 billion HUF additional financing will be provided in next year's budget, in order to strengthen the pork industry – said Czerván György Secretary of State responsible for agri-management on Thursday at the technical discussions in Herceghalom.

The Secretary expounded that while the cattle population increased slightly last year, the decrease in the number of pigs has not stopped. Few years ago it was more than 6 million, now it is barely 3 million. He added that while in the EU, the proportion of animal husbandry is an average 40 percent, in Hungary it is only 32 percent.
