Strong domestic vocational training
The renewed Hungarian vocational training is the second best in Europe and is among the top ten in the world, Minister of Culture and Innovation Balázs Hankó announced on Friday at the 1st Excellence Gala of the Carpathian Basin Technical Schools in Budapest.
At the event, students and teachers from the most excellent technical schools in Hungary and abroad were awarded for their outstanding academic and community achievements.
Balázs Hankó said that
the secret to success is the organic cooperation between vocational training and the Hungarian economy, and real success can be achieved through motivated teachers and students.
The minister called it important for young people to have a profession, because it provides security, but success can only be forged from it if it is built on solid foundations, he noted.
He also said that every profession changes, but if the foundations are mastered confidently, then new things can be quickly adopted, and there is a chance to develop and become among the best.
He stated that vocational training has become popular, which was also contributed to by the fact that the scholarship system was renewed, the esteem of professions was restored, and dual, practical training was introduced.
He mentioned as an example, among other things, that students in vocational training can receive scholarships of tens of thousands of forints, as well as wages, they are provided with a starting allowance of 300 thousand forints, and the 4 million forints workers’ loan also helps young skilled workers. Meanwhile, technician training has become the anteroom of higher education – added Balázs Hankó.
