Oktoberfest in Debrecen is coming
Oktoberfest, once born in the heart of Bavaria and now known worldwide, will soon open its doors in Debrecen. The first Oktoberfest Debrecen, which presents itself as a new arena for the meeting of different cultures, awaits its audience on the University square between October 3rd and 5th.
The aim of the initiative is for the public to experience the unadulterated Bavarian feeling of life with the German-speaking actors of the city’s economic, educational and cultural life – even literally arm in arm. We are preparing for the three-day festival with a wide selection of quality Bavarian beers, food specialties, as well as traditional music and games, while those arriving in full Bavarian folk costume will be welcomed with a free beer coupon at the entrance.
As the opening event of the festival, on Thursday, October 3, at 5:30 p.m., mayor László Papp and Vinzenz Grassl, managing director of the Schedl Group, will tap the beer keg according to Bavarian tradition.
