The 30,000-forint food voucher is arriving for pensioners
A 30,000-forint food voucher for pensioners will be distributed starting Monday – announced Zsolt Nyitrai, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister, in a video posted on his Facebook page on Sunday.
He said that due to the complicated situation caused by unjustified price increases by food chains, the Hungarian government is supporting pensioners with margin reductions and food vouchers.
Those eligible for the voucher include pensioners and others receiving pension-like benefits, such as people with disabilities – he added.
The vouchers will be delivered by postal workers between September 1 and October 15, and can be used until December 31 to purchase cold food. They can be redeemed in domestic retail chain stores, discount stores, bakeries, butchers, greengrocers, markets, and from local producers. However, the vouchers cannot be used to buy hot meals, alcohol, tobacco products, chemical goods, or cosmetics – he explained.
The vouchers are not personalized and can be used by anyone. They cannot be exchanged for cash, and no change will be given – he stated.
“Pensioners can count on the civic government led by Viktor Orbán” – said Zsolt Nyitrai.
