Vajda-Papír achieved an improvement in results and an increase in turnover in 2023
Hungary’s leading hygienic paper manufacturer, Vajda-Papír, achieved a record profit in 2023, both in absolute terms and in relation to sales, so it ended last year with an outstanding result, an increase in turnover and a significant improvement in earnings, as expected.
According to Attila Vajda, the founder and managing director of the company group, behind the favorable results are the reduction of energy prices, the improvement of their productivity, as well as the investments that reduce the company’s energy needs, the innovations and, thanks to this, the increasing efficiency. Attila Vajda expects an increase in turnover and a further improvement in profitability in 2024 as well, but the company group will have to face new challenges, as pulp prices began to rise slowly from the second half of 2023, which continued in the first quarter of 2024. The results of the first quarter of 2024 were similar to those of the fourth quarter of 2023, continuing the positive trend. The company manager also reported that the previously slowed down investments may pick up, in 2024 they plan to strengthen the company’s foreign market positions and make another capacity-enhancing investment, further improving the company group’s medium- and long-term prospects.
