The European food safety alert is effective

The report of the European Commission highlights that thanks to the EU food and feed safety alert system (RASFF) a number of food safety risks were resolved or eased – the European Commission reports.

All members of the RASFF system receive rapid informations of the identified major risk factors in connection with food or feed. During 2011, 9157 notices arrived to the RASFF system, in connection with deviations from EU Food Law instructions; 617 of them proved to be major risk factors.
The majority of notifications (5345), were additional notices, while the number of notifications was 3812.  (Világgazdaság Online)
