November 7 is World Merlot Day
World Merlot Blue Grape Day is November 7. It is now celebrated for the ninth year. With its fruity taste, which is also very popular in Hungary, many wine lovers emphasize only its fruity and soft character, although there are many interesting things related to the variety.
The blue grapes ripened in Hungary make a typical wine, similar to the Argentine or Chilean merlot. It appeared in Hungary in the sixties, when its large-scale installation began, and since then it has spread to all our wine regions. The best quality is provided by the areas of Villány, Szekszárd and Eger.
