The installation of the transformer substation in Hódmezővásárhely, which took place yesterday and is currently underway, will be a real technical treat for experts in Hungary, as the most modern technology available is being built into the solar power park, which allows it to react “smartly” to extreme weather situations, among other things. The construction of the sixth solar power plant of the Solar Markt Group has reached its final stage and is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of the year.

The Hódmezővásárhely power plant clearly expresses our strategic approach: the energy of the future is determined by the trio of sustainability, cutting-edge technology and market operation. The renewable energy produced by our new solar power plant aims to significantly support domestic companies on their path towards climate-neutral operation, all on an economic basis and in a sustainable way in the long term.

From a technical point of view, the power plant will be a real curiosity and will feature unique solutions, especially with regard to protection against extreme weather phenomena. The system is able to respond dynamically to environmental influences: in the event of hurricane-force winds, it will automatically rotate the outermost rows of panels in the direction of the wind, and if necessary, it will rotate all rows in, significantly reducing the load on the structure and the panels and their possible damage. In the event of hail, the protective mechanism will also be activated, making the intelligent control of the solar power plant a true technological innovation

– stated Miklós Mormer, Project Director of the Solar Markt Group.

The planned start-up of the solar park, which covers an area of 86.5 hectares, will be in December this year. Nearly 98 thousand solar panels have been installed in the new solar power plant in Hódmezővásárhely. With the new facility, the group’s solar power plant portfolio will expand to a total installed capacity of 138 MWp.

Green Cloud will sell an average of 105 GWh of green electricity produced annually in the new solar power plant, which will be operational by the end of the year, to domestic companies under a PPA structure.
