EP decision on the GMO-modified pollen in honey
The European Parliament (EP) came to a decision on Wednesday that the pollen must be a natural constituent of honey, not the component.
Accordingly, the presence of genetically modified (GMO) pollen should not be indicated on the labels practically, because the proportion of pollen in the honey does not exceed the level above which the ingredients should be marked. In this case, the EP has to agree with the representatives of the Member States. Hungarian MEPs criticized the decision. (MTI)
