Consumer spending in the United States increasede slightly in September
As in the previous month, US consumers have saved more and barely increased their spending in September, while wages and salaries have stagnated, making it doubtful that consumers will be able to spur economic growth in the face of increasingly tight corporate investment.
The Washington Department of Commerce announced that consumer spending increased by 0.2 percent month-on-month, just like in August. Analysts also expected a 0.2 percent increase.
Personal income increased by 0.3 percent in September. Analysts expected stagnation after the 0.5 percent growth of the previous month. (MTI)
