This is how much our everyday household appliances consume
Due to the current energy situation, energy awareness and cost efficiency are becoming increasingly important aspects, but do we really know how much our everyday household appliances consume? According to the approximate calculation made by the Wagner Solar Rezsikommandó team, maintaining a refrigerator costs HUF 25 per day at official energy rates, while a microwave oven costs HUF 84 per day with average use. The company has also put together a war plan that helps you live a waste-free, energy-conscious life.
With the rise in utility prices, everyone has probably thought about how to reduce and optimize their household’s energy costs, but navigating the maze of so many options is not easy. It does not matter at all what complex solution we choose and what elements it consists of.
Ádám Házi, the development director of Wagner Solar Hungária Kft., pointed out that, above all, it is worthwhile to be aware of how much energy our everyday household appliances consume, which is a starting point for further steps. The company’s Rezzikommando team performed a gap-filling calculation for this very reason.
In terms of the tested devices, the electric stove is one of the most expensive, assuming an average consumption of 2 kWh/hour and 1 hour of use per day, it takes HUF 140 out of our pocket, calculated with the official energy fee (HUF 36/kWh). The same at a non-utility-protected price (HUF 70/kWh) is HUF 420.
