Energy emergency: the refrigerator consumes the most electricity
Five out of ten Hungarians cannot calculate the additional costs of operating household appliances in their homes in the future, even though 40 percent will pay up to HUF 30,000 more per month for electricity as a result of the energy emergency, according to Gorenje’s latest research.

We can pay up to 30,000 more for electricity, but we would not switch to more energy-efficient machines
According to the respondents, refrigerators, washing machines and ovens are the biggest consumers of household appliances, but 40 percent of those taking part in the survey do not plan to change their household appliance usage habits in the future, and most of them would not switch to a more modern appliance either.
Nearly 80 percent of Hungarians between the ages of 18 and 65 are concerned about the amount of additional costs arising in connection with the energy emergency, but 53 percent have not yet been able to calculate how much their expenses may increase in the long term. According to Gorenje’s latest research, people over the age of 60 are most concerned about the rising utility bill, while the 18-39 age group is less concerned about rising costs.
