The possibilities of breeding Hungarian variegated cattle lie in sustainability in the future
The Ministry of Agriculture places even more emphasis on voluntary and incentive programs in order to prioritize environmentally and climate-conscious agriculture. Anikó Juhász spoke at the Tolna county agricultural forum about the possibilities of Hungarian variegated cattle breeding.
The Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture responsible for agriculture gave a presentation on the Common Agricultural Policy (KAP), which defines the next five years of agriculture, and the Strategic Plan containing its details at the XXIV. Bonyhád Animal Health and Animal Breeding Council. The deputy state secretary talked about the main features of the CAP that will determine the next five years, the changes to which farming will have to be adapted in the future, which will determine the conditions for the use of agricultural subsidies.
You have to prepare for changes
Anikó Juhász indicated that it would be very important for the European Commission to accept the Hungarian Strategic Plan submitted last December as soon as possible so that farmers have time to prepare for the changes. The Ministry of Agriculture continuously publishes the autumn production decisions and the changed conditions that significantly determine the next farming year, so farmers should pay attention to them. Sustainability goals and conditions are prominent elements of the CAP. Anikó Juhász put it this way: animal husbandry is not in an easy situation, the judgment of Western societies, which mostly live in cities, is not very favorable. An important goal is to make them familiar with and accept the situation and difficulties of animal husbandry, which also strives for sustainability.
