Waberer’s profit decreased in the first quarter despite rising revenue
Waberer’s International Nyrt. achieved sales revenue of 196.7 million euros in the first quarter, which is an 11.3 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) from 11.2 million euros to 8.5 million euros decreased – the shipping company published its quarterly figures on the website of the Budapest Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
According to the information, the quarterly net result fell from EUR 10.4 million in the base period to EUR 1.1 million, partly due to the EUR 5.7 million loss recorded on the financial line.
At the Wednesday press conference presenting the results, Deputy CEO Szabolcs Tóth said: the record quarterly sales contributed to the fact that despite the unfavorable European economy, all three business branches of the company were able to grow, and the turnover was above the average of the previous quarters.
