Rising raw milk and cereal prices
According to AKI PÁIR data, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary was HUF 200.93/kg in December 2024.

With stagnation in fat content, a 0.04 percentage point deterioration in protein content and a 4% increase in the base price, the average price of raw milk in December 2024 was 5% higher than in November 2024 and it was 24% higher than the average price in the same month of the previous year. Raw milk’s export price was HUF 213.14/kg in December 2024, down 9% from the previous month and up 23% from the same month in 2023.
The producer price of milling wheat in Hungary excluding VAT and transport costs was HUF 86.2 thousand/tonne (+32% compared to a year earlier), feed wheat cost HUF 80.4 thousand/tonne (+36%) and feed maize could be purchased for HUF 76 thousand/tonne (+30%) in the third week of January. At the same time the producer price of industrial sunflower seeds (including high oleic sunflower seeds) was HUF 220.3 thousand/tonne (+57%), rapeseed’s price as HUF 219.1 thousand/tonne (+47%) and soybeans were available for HUF 181 thousand/tonne (+17%). The producer price of domestically bred pig excluding VAT and transport costs was HUF 772/kg carcass hot weight in December 2024, down 10% compared to the average price a year earlier. //
