Beef prices rise in Hungary, the EU and the US
According to data from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the price of a bull in the United States was 7.31 dollars (USD)/kilogram of cold carcass weight in March 2025, up 9.9 percent from a year earlier.

In Brazil, the price of cattle expressed in Brazilian reals was 42.8 percent higher in March 2025 compared to the average price in the same month of the previous year. In the European Union, the slaughterhouse entry price of a young bull of the “R3” commercial class was 6.43 euros/kilogram of cold carcass weight in April 2025, up 28 percent from a year earlier. The price of a cow “O3” increased by 35.6 percent and the price of a heifer “R3” by 25.5 percent during the period under review. According to AKI PÁIR data, the producer price of slaughter cattle in Hungary increased in the 1st–20th week of 2025: per 1 kg of carcass warm weight, the producer price of a young bull was 1,623 forints, that of a slaughter heifer was 1,247 forints, and that of a slaughter cow was 1,336 forints.
