Increased retail sales in the euro area
Eurozone retail sales increased by greater-than-expected in June – reported Eurostat today.
The monthly retail sales rose by 0.9 percent, after the 1.3 percent decrease of May, though the projections were about a 0.5 percent expanison. In the whole European Union, retail sales rose by 0.7 percent, after the 1.3 percent decline of May.
On an annual level; sales in the euro area declined by 0.4 percent after the revised 2.3 percent decline of May, while the EU a 0.2 percent drop was recorded – reports profitline.hu.
