Exports from Czech breweries increased in 2019
A record 21.6 million hectoliters of beer was brewed in the Czech Republic last year, 1.6 percent more year-on-year than in 2018, the Association of Czech Brewers said in Prague on Wednesday.
This year’s brewing will decline due to restrictions due to the coronavirus epidemic, the statement said. Market experts estimate that in the March-May period, about 40 percent less beer was consumed in the Czech Republic than a year ago. The annual reduction in production could be 1.5-2 million hectoliters.
Behind the growth of brewing last year, as in 2018, is mainly exports.
