The districts of Budapest to increase tourism tax
Several districts of Budapest announced to increase the tariffs of the tourism tax and will collect it by their own from the 1st of January – reports the Turizmus Panoráma Bulletin.
The 12th district published the decree over the changes on the 27th of December, while the 8th district on the 30th, and the 9th district on the 31st of December.
“These are unfortunate decisions in many ways” – commented the news to Világgazsdaság Erdei János, president of the Hotel Association of Hungary. He stated that no prior consultation occurred, and at most places the regulations were promulgated only a few days before the entry would came into force.
