Man in the jungles of existence – fears, adaptation, consumption
On November 10, 2022, the VII. The Marketing and Tourism Institute of the University of Pécs jointly organizes the Interdisciplinary Symposium on Consumption, Man in the Jungles of Being – Fears, Adaptation, Consumption, with the Marketing Subcommittee of the Economics Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Nowadays, as consumers and decision-makers, we often feel that the control of decisions is out of our hands, sometimes the pandemic, sometimes the climate situation, sometimes the imminent war, inflation reshapes our plans, causing quite a bit of anxiety. Marketing literature does not really depict fears and negative emotions, we much prefer to recall happy people who are able and willing to spend, or to play a neutral, factual role. However, reality cannot be replaced by ideals. The symposium provides an overview of the responses of marketing researchers and professionals to today’s situation, and also provides an opportunity to discuss current issues affecting consumer and customer decisions across disciplines.
The event can be followed by personal and online participation. After registration, interested parties will receive a connection link.
