EM: more than 8,000 applicants in the corporate e-car program
Business companies can apply for a subsidy of up to 4 million forints per vehicle until December 1st to purchase purely electric vehicles; the number of applications received has exceeded eight thousand, and the companies applying have already purchased more than two thousand vans – the Ministry of Energy (EM) announced on its Facebook page on Thursday.
The ministry recalled that the budget for the program to encourage the greening of corporate fleets was recently increased to 40 billion forints. The amount of funds committed in the contracts is approaching 30 billion, so it is definitely worth applying.
The eight thousand applicants can purchase nearly 9,200 environmentally friendly passenger cars and more than two thousand climate-friendly vans with state contributions. So far, requests have been received for 8 minibuses and 3.5-ton trucks
– the Ministry of Economy announced.
The winners have been paid about 21 billion forints to purchase nearly 5,400 green cars so far. Thanks to the increase in the budget, the program can expand the domestic fleet by a total of up to ten thousand clean and quiet vehicles – they announced.
The exclusively electric domestic fleet already has more than 90 thousand units, having expanded elevenfold since 2020. The spread of climate-friendly cars not only reduces air pollution and noise pollution, but their operation and maintenance are also cheaper than gasoline-powered cars, the ministry wrote.
