EM: Hungarian companies can green their fleets with more than ten thousand electric vehicles

The number of climate-friendly vehicles to be purchased through the corporate e-car program has exceeded ten thousand, and based on the applications, nearly 7,800 environmentally friendly passenger cars and more than 2,200 vans can green the fleet – the Ministry of Energy (EM) announced on its Facebook page on Friday.

According to the ministry, companies can apply for support from the budget increased to 40 billion forints for the purchase of purely electric vehicles. Thanks to the application, more and more green cars are driving on Hungarian roads. Their expansion reduces air pollution and noise pollution, and their owners can save on operating and maintenance costs.

In the applications so far, support requests have been received for 10,030 vehicles. The most popular brand is BYD with more than two thousand units, and the most popular type is the Tesla Model Y. A total of 22 billion forints have already been paid out for more than 5,700 vehicles.

The support opportunity is significantly stimulating the domestic market for green cars. The monthly record for their registration was broken in October, and another annual record is already certain. Thanks to the government program, the 100,000th purely electric vehicle can be put into service in Hungary this year – the Ministry of Economy announced.
