EM: the extended producer responsibility fees will not increase next year
According to the decision of Energy Minister Csaba Lantos, the extended producer responsibility fees will not increase next year either, the ministry informed MTI.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Energy, the government’s goal is for Hungary to transition to a circular economy as quickly as possible, in which fewer and fewer products become waste, and the generated waste is reused as raw materials as much as possible.
“This is why waste management has been transformed in our country since July and, according to the Brussels regulations, we have introduced the extended producer responsibility system, in which polluting producers have to pay more for the treatment of their waste”
– they remind me. According to the decision of the Minister of Energy, the extended producer responsibility fees will not increase next year either.
As a reminder: as of July 1, based on the concession contract, MOHU MOL Hulladékzágászólji Zrt. will carry out part of the waste management tasks in Hungary. At the same time, the new extended producer responsibility system was created in accordance with Brussels guidelines and expectations, in which polluters pay more for the removal, treatment, destruction and reuse of their waste.
