EM: you can apply for the popular green energy subsidy for one more week
There is still one more week to apply for the popular green energy subsidy, the Ministry of Energy (EM) has announced.
According to a statement sent to MTI, the opportunity to apply for the Solar Energy Plus program opened to Hungarian families a year ago, on January 15, 2024: the government will provide up to 5 million forints per property to help install modern solar systems that also include energy storage.
The deadline for submitting applications for support will expire next Wednesday, exactly one year after the launch, they announced, adding that those interested in pre-registering earlier can apply for state contributions for their developments aimed at producing and storing green energy and reducing their electricity bills for another week.
They also announced that the government is encouraging families to invest in green energy with a budget of 105.8 billion forints in the Solar Energy Plus program.
Thanks to the summer budget increase, more than 20,600 households have been supported so far, compared to the originally calculated 15,000, with a total of HUF 84.4 billion, and a total of HUF 16.6 billion has already been transferred to nearly a third of the winners.
In the projects with accepted interim payment requests, solar panel systems with a total installed capacity of 23.7 megawatts have been installed so far, with energy storage with a capacity of 38.6 megawatt hours, they wrote.
