In order to encourage the transition to a circular economy and expand waste recovery capacities, the government is announcing a new tender with a budget of 15.1 billion forints. The aim of the call, which can be submitted for comments until December 1, is to support the introduction of innovative, competitiveness-enhancing technologies nationwide, which can bring long-term savings and new market opportunities to businesses – the Ministry of Energy (ME) announced on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, the support provided under the KEHOP Plusz Program can be applied for the development of new or expanding recycling capacities, as well as the introduction of innovative, efficient technologies. Investments aimed at extracting critical secondary raw materials, as well as the development or purchase of project-related infrastructure elements, such as halls, storage facilities and machinery, can also be supported, up to a maximum of 25 percent of the support. The waste streams to be developed in the program are plastics, glass, electronic waste, batteries and accumulators, wrecked cars and tires.

Business companies, sole proprietors and companies using double-entry bookkeeping can apply for the application. The amount of the non-refundable support varies by region and by the size of the enterprises, so in some regions – in the North and South Great Plain, in the North and South Transdanubia – a support intensity of up to 65 percent is available for small enterprises. The amount of support can range from 150 million forints to 5 billion forints per project.

The call is expected to be open for applications in four stages, with the first stage scheduled to open in January 2026. Comments on the draft can be submitted until December 1, 2025, on the www.palyazat.gov.hu website, the Ministry of Education and Culture announced in its statement.
