Third of the pigs and one-fifth of the cattle have disappeared
According to the Central Statistical Office; third of the pigs and one-fifth of the cattle have disappeared in the last ten years.
This shows that animal breeding is vegetating for almost a decade. The numbers speak for themselves: while in 2000 there were 850 thousand cattle in Hungary, this year their number is only 680 thousand. A decade ago there were 4.5 million pigs in the country, now only around 3 million – reports szabadfold.hu.
