Cheap spirits may disappear
The alcohol industry is preparing for response steps, due to the excise tax increase entered into force on the 1st of November.
The businesses are seeking for “alternative solutions” that will result in the disappearance of cheap spirits from the domestic retail stores.
The domestic spirits sales is estimated at 145-150 billion HUF per year, about 48 billion paid for excise taxes last year. As about 80 percent of this comes from the sales of commercial kind of spirits – reports Népszabadság Online.
