The economic sentiment deteriorated in the euro area
Euro zone's economic sentiment index deteriorated in August, and within, the retail, industrial and the services confidence indicators also decreased – states the European Commission.
The euro area economic sentiment indicator fell to 98.3 points, from the 103 points of July. Economists expected 100.5 points.
Consumer confidence decreased to -16.5 points from -11.2 points of the previous month, as well as the industrial confidence index decreased to -2.9 from 0.9 points.
The August service sentiment index fell to 3.7 points from 7.9 points of the previous month, as well as commercial confidence index from -8.7 to -3.6 points of the previous month.
Only the construction industry sentiment index improved to -23.3 points from -24.3 points of July – reports mfor.hu.
