Difficulties at Charles Vögele

The company lost share on its most important markets, in Switzerland, Germany and Austria in 2008.

 The total sales decreased by 1.8% to
CHF 1.369 billion, the profit fell by 75% to CHF 15.4 it is far away
from anylists forecast.

Charles Vogele Holding AG is a leading
independent European clothing retailer with 834 sales outlets in
Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovenia,
Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. In the first half of 2008 it
employed a total of 7,715 people. Company opened its first unit in
Hungary four years before. Since that there are 30 Charles Vögele
butiques in the country.
